Where are my emails kept?
Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2002, XP and 2003 stores most of its information in one file which by default is located in your profile. The file is usually called Outlook.PST. This file contains your emails (Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts), Outlook Calendar, Outlook Tasks, Outlook Contacts but NOT your Outlook Archive files. Your archive is stored in a separate file (usually called archive.pst).
What is a profile?
Your profile is the series of folders and subfolders listed in the 'Documents and Settings' folder under your username. So for example if you log in as Anne, your profile consists of those files and folders in the directory \Documents and Settings\Anne. If Microsoft Outlook was installed using the default settings then your Outlook 2000, Outlook 2002 Outlook XP or Outlook 2003 *.pst files will be stored in \Documents and Settings\ProfileName\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.
